Tree Care and Pruning Seminar

What is the Seminar going to cover?

Ted starts with understanding what makes our plants self-sustaining by making healthy soil. Then Tree Care and Growing nutritious Gardens. The next section is Tree Pruning which really is Surgery on a Living Plant. To not harm the plant you need to know some basic principles about how a tree grows. Then if there are folks that want to go through weed and pest control that seminar follows. Ted Smith has been teaching this for over twenty years, so he keeps it simple and very understandable, for even a person who has no plant background. However, once you understand the way your tree grows, it helps you so much with making pruning decisions.

The Seminar goes through HOW A TREE GROWS, RIGHT AND WRONG CUTS, TOOLS, then focuses on what many books miss, "real life pruning problems".

The tree you are pruning never looks like the nice little diagram given on-line or in a text book. Your Tree probably has limbs going every which way is why you wanted some education on the subject. Ted takes the time to show examples of problem trees and how to make the right decisions for long term tree health.

At the end of the booklet there is a five question quiz you take, for yourself, to see if you've learned the basics. This is a confidence builder on what you really learned in this thirty minute program and you'll be surprised how well it works.

Learning how to take care of Trees

Ted Smith is a ISA Certified Arborist that works directly with Home Owners, helping them understand the best practices for taking care of their trees.

Improper Pruning has a severe impact on a trees health. Pruning is really not that difficult with a basic knowledge of how to do it right.

With this in mind, Ted has written two free booklets for his clients, on the subject:
TREE CARE and THE TREE GUIDE FOR BACKYARD PRUNERS.

These Booklets are covered in the Free Seminar which takes approximately 30 minutes.

Armed with this information, a Home Owner will have the base knowledge of how trees grow and how to make the right decisions when pruning.

There is no fee for the Seminar and no obligations, however, if you want to become a client of Ted Smith's, there is a $39 charge for doing a Tree and Yard Evaluation to review your personal trees and you keep the booklets at that time.

Even if you do not intend to prune your trees yourself, it is very important to have the knowledge of how they should be pruned and be taken care of; so you know the job is being done right.
